Within Data Protection Manager you can use custom volumes instead of the storage pool. This can be helpful in specific scenarios where the storage pool is just not the thing you need. You have to use local disks on the DPM server for custom volumes. These can be:
Local installed (RAID) disks
SAN storage connected by iSCSI or Fib [...]

This can occur when you are using a proxy server. The Lync client tries to reach several internal and/or external domains depending on your configuration. Internal traffic must remain internal, so this will fail if send over the proxy.

This is an easy one. When starting the management console the language of the local OS will be detected. Then it will search if a language pack is present. When found, the corresponding language will be shown and troubleshooting will instantly become a lot harder (or you can just try to search for non-English errors, good luck).
